CINEMA 4D User Group February 2012
On Thursday night we saw a few new faces at the meeting who were keen to spend time exploring the Toon rendering capabilities of CINEMA 4D R13 and problems associated with animation using this style. We also had another request to look at the new character animation tools introduced in R13 which surprised a few members with the relatively straightforward process of establishing a basic bi-ped rig.
After this Ian Haigh showed an animation project in which he customised CINEMA 4D’s keyboard shortcuts to increase the speed of his workflow. He also dissected the animation showing how the use of Mograph made short work of what appeared to be a complex animation.
Finally we looked at the Time Effector, one of the more obscure Mograph effectors, and discovered we were able to use it to create procedural animations within CINEMA 4D without the need for any keyframes.

The next CINEMA 4D User Group Meeting on January 20th 2011 at Adimex will feature a not-to-be-missed presentation by Peter Moxom from Pixar. Peter will give a talk about the Renderman application and demonstrate how it has been used in PIXAR movies.
Nigel Allen will then demonstrate how Renderman can be intergrated with CINEMA 4D.
Please contact Nigel Allen in advance and let him know if you are coming along. See here for Adimex location details. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided.
The user group meetings are also a great opportunity for CINEMA 4D users to present and discuss their projects. So be sure to let Nigel know if you would like to present your work to the group.
